Welcome to the State Boards & Commissions online search page.  Pursuant to S.C. Code of Laws
§1-5-40, the Secretary of State’s Office has a duty to monitor positions on state boards and commissions.  The Secretary of State’s
Office must keep membership information for state boards and commissions as a public record available for inspection by the members of the General Assembly
and members of the public. This information must include the term length, expiration date of the term, appointing authority, and any required
            qualifications for membership.

This page allows for searches of individuals who serve on state boards, as well as searches of specific boards or commissions for a list of current members.  You
may search using a key word for a particular board or commission if you do not know the exact name.  For example, you may search for a board that contains the
word “medical” and it will provide you with search results for all boards with the word “medical” in the name.  The State Boards & Commissions database reflects
the most recent information on file with the Secretary of State’s Office.

Please remember that the membership information on file with the Secretary of State’s Office is based on information provided by state boards and commissions
pursuant to S.C. Code of Laws
§1-1-1310.
Under this code section, state boards and commissions must send written
notification to the Secretary of State’s Office regarding any appointment,
election, resignation or vacancy within the board or commission.  For additional
            information see
